Scholarship Agreement

If awarded, the applicant agrees to maintain the following:
  • Must exhibit the character qualities in keeping with 1 Timothy 3:1-7.

  • Must demonstrate commitment to the local church through active ministry involvement, such as, teaching, preaching, and discipleship of others.

  • Must complete the M.Div. in a total of four years from the student's first semester of enrollment.

  • Must enroll full-time each semester (i.e., 11 or more units) with the exception of the student’s final semester before graduation.
    • Please Note: this scholarship will not directly cover courses taken in the summer or winter semesters. Summer or winter enrollment does not count toward the student’s full-time status.

    • However, recognizing the need for full-ride students to complete their degree in a timely manner, TMS would like to offer students the chance to increase their fall/spring scholarship to cover the charges of the summer/winter post-session courses. This request can be made by completing a Post-Session Fund Request. Email financialaid@tms.edu to request access to this document.
  • Must notify financial aid concerning changes to enrollment or registration. If a student's registration changes (adding a class) and charges are different than the scholarship awarded, he will have until the add/drop date of the semester to notify financial aid of registration changes.

  • Must maintain a 3.70 cumulative GPA in order to continue to receive the scholarship. If a student drops below the 3.70 GPA requirement, then he will have one probationary semester to bring his GPA to the minimum 3.70 standard. If he is unable to raise his cumulative GPA to the 3.70 minimum in that semester, then he will forfeit the scholarship.

  • Must affirm the TMS Doctrinal Statement every semester. The TMS Doctrinal Statement is available at www.tms.edu.

  • Must make significant progress to complete the degree in 4 years from the students first semester of enrollment. 8 semesters counting the ones from the first classes enrolled in at the main LA campus. Online semesters do not count.

  • Student will receive up to 76 units (98 units less 22) under the scholarship. The scholarship will not cover courses retaken due to failure, withdrawal, or low GPA.
